The Renwen Society at China Institute and the Confucius
Institute at Pace University jointly present a special event
on Sunday, 13 March with Mr. Yin Chengzong, an
internationally-acclaimed pianist and winner of numerous
prizes. Born on the "Piano Island" of Gulangyu Island in
Xiamen, Fujian, Yin is perhaps best known in China for his
creation of the piano-accompanied version of The Legend of
the Red Lantern during the Cultural Revolution and in the
world through the Yellow River Piano Concerto he arranged
based on the Yellow River Cantata. He has performed in many
Western theaters since the 1980s. He is the single Chinese
pianist who has performed the most in the Carnegie Hall in
New York.
The event will take the format of an interview with Mr. Yin
about his performing career and the interviewer will be Ms.
Wang Ping, a faculty member at NYU.

The event will be conducted in Chinese, but simultaneous
interpretation in English will be provided as well. So
non-Chinese-speaking audience are also welcome.
