The Renwen Society at China Institute joins the Confucius Institute for Business (CIB) at SUNY to invite you to a special event, “The Development of Chinese Cinema Since Mid-1980s” presented by Mr. Jiaxuan Zhang, lecturer of Chinese film and drama at Queens College, CUNY and film critic for both English and Chinese publications including Film Quarterly andSight and Sound for over 30 years.

Mr. Zhang’s talk will explore the new development of Chinese cinema since mid-1980s with a special focus on three major aspects of the new development of Chinese movies over the past three decades, as well as three leading figures, Zhang Yimou, Lu Yue and Jia Zhangke.
